GeoDome: Contextualizing our place in the Universe

The purpose of this session is to introduce the GeoDome Portal and its use in contextualizing our place in the Universe. I'll be talking about where we see GeoDome heading and hopefully inspiring discussions of other directions to head. All the while, we will be engaged in a fully interactive tour of the known Universe.

Background:
Our company, www.elumenati.com, moved to Milwaukee last year. We specialize in creating Immersive Projection Environments and have a long history of projects that combine science and art (Black Party - NYC, Burning Man - Depths of Hell, Soap Factory - Minneapolis...) Barcamp seems like a great way to get connected with like-minded people here in Milwaukee.

GeoDome:
The GeoDome is a new geomatic tool for immersing students and audiences within life-scale representations of geospatial, Earth and environmental scientific data. The GeoDome provides a natural and comfortable way for audiences to socially interact while surrounded by intuitively understandable projections of 3D worlds and data visualizations. Multiple GeoDomes can be networked together, enabling remote groups to collaborate in the learning process.
